HealthiNation Enables High Quality Video Viewing Experiences with Brightcove

Posted by: Kristin Cronin, October 7, 2009

HealthiNation's primary business is in providing health-related videos that educate and inspire consumers to make healthier choices. The videos, which are developed by a team of leading physicians and media experts, provide detailed information about diseases and various medical conditions, as well as lifestyle tips, diet and personal stories.

In a recent interview with Beet.TV, John Piccone, HealthiNation's SVP of business development and sales strategy, highlighted how HealthiNation has tapped the Brightcove online video platform in order to support its rapidly growing online video efforts and to provide the highest quality user experience possible. A high quality experience is absolutely essential when consumers are searching for reputable healthcare-related information and video content, and Brightcove enables HealthiNation to ensure viewers have easy access to quality content where and when they need it.

Piccone also notes that HealthiNation has benefitted from the openness of the Brightcove platform and its APIs, as it has allowed the organization to better track usage and viewing habits and measure the efficiency of their video content.

In another Beet.TV video, Piccone also discusses HealthiNation's syndication strategy, which is crucial in ensuring they maintain control over their video content and their high quality viewing experience.

Brightcove CEO Jeremy Allaire at the NY Video Meetup

Posted by: Kristin Cronin, October 1, 2009

A great evening was had by all who attended last nights NY Video Meetup, held at NYU's Vanderbilt Hall. The event was especially interesting for us, as Brightcove CEO, Jeremy Allaire, was the night's featured "hot seat" guest.

Jeremy shared his thoughts on the online video landscape and the overall maturity of the market, as well as new trends that are shaping the industry around long-tail, video advertising, premium content, distribution, monetization and marketing. Yaron Samid, the organizer of NY Video and the host of last night's event, also put Jeremy through an "Inside the Actor's Studio" style Q&A session, ranging from topics like his high school days in Minnesota to how Jeremy's first company, Allaire Corporation, was born.

Overall, it was a fantastic event that generated interesting discussion and questions. We're thrilled that so many people were able to attend.

Special thanks to Yaron and his team for organizing such a great event, as well as our friends (and partners) at Livestream for providing a live feed to the event on the NY Video site.

Brightcove Powers The Primetime Emmys Awards Online!

Posted by: Kristin Cronin, September 21, 2009

Last night marked the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards and yet another fantastic show that was packed full of the top celebrities on TV today. What's even better (for us at least!) is that in addition to the always entertaining live broadcast, this year the Emmys website also featured up-to-the-minute video clips and highlights from the show using the Brightcove platform. The Emmys team also put together a series of videos highlighting the behind the scenes work that goes into producing such a high profile event each year. Interviews with various producers and product designers provide visitors to the site with an insiders look at how various elements of the show are created.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which is the organization behind the Emmys, has been a Brightcove customer for several years and we are extremely proud to support their efforts as they continue to expand their online video initiatives. Congratulations to another successful Emmys broadcast!

Posted by: Kristin Cronin, September 15, 2009

We are very proud to report that last Friday at the IBC Conference in Amsterdam, Brightcove was named the "Best Web TV Technology or Service" at the awards ceremony for the 2009 CSI Product Awards. The awards, organized by Cable & Satellite International magazine, are one of the most comprehensive and competitive technology awards in the industry, as they are designed to reward technical and product marketing excellence in the cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcasing and IPTV sectors.

Brightcove was selected by an independent judging panel of experts, consisting of practicing and former head of engineering and operations from some of the world's most important network operators, well-respected consultants and senior industry analysts.

This award is the latest in notable recognition for Brightcove so far this year. We were recently honored by the Massachusetts Networking Communications Council as their Video Company of the Year, as well as by the IPTV World Forum for the 2009 Best Internet TV Technology/Solution award. Jeremy Allaire was also named to the 2009 Streaming Media All-Star team in April. Brightcove Alliance Doubles in Size, Adds New Categories and Certification Program

Posted by: Kristin Cronin, September 11, 2009

We are very pleased to announce that the Brightcove Alliance, our global partner ecosystem, has doubled in size over the past seven months to include more than 200 technology, distribution and solution partners. We also unveiled 5 new technology partner categories, including content management systems, transcoding, e-mail, content and live, as well as a new training and certification program for our solution partners.

The Brightcove Alliance was launched in December 2008 to provide our worldwide customer base with access to a broad range of expert partners, pre-integrated technologies and services to support online video initiatives of any size and scope in every market. Since then, the program has rapidly expanded to include 200+ partners around the world. We now have a total of 12 technology partner categories, including the original 7 categories -- advertising and monetization, reporting and analytics, search and discovery, social media, viewer experience, distribution, and mobile.

We've also taken a structured and unique approach to nurturing solution partners to help create a labor force of external Brightcove experts. Our new training and certification program will only help to further the success of our solution partner ecosystem. These programs are designed to provide creative and interactive agencies and systems integrators with the opportunity to provide video services and take advantage of new revenue sources through a referral program with flexible business and campaign-based pricing models. Certified partners will also have access to a special Partner Edition of the Brightcove platform.

Check out today's press release and our full list of Alliance partners here.

Many of our Bay Area Brightcove Alliance partners were on hand at the Brightcove meetup in San Francisco last night, which turned out to be a fantastic event. Several partners, including Qik, Boxee, Apture and Cooliris, also showcased live demonstrations of how they have integrated with our platform. Thanks again to all of our partners who made it to the event!

We are extremely proud of what the Brightcove Alliance program has become as we continue to rapidly sign up important partners, execute with them in the field, and provide value to our customers. No other company can claim the breadth, depth, and substance of the Brightcove Alliance and we look forward to continuing to expand our partner ecosystem in the future.
