Tonight our technology partner Drupal will be hosting a Drupal for Marketing event here in London. You can see details about it here: http://drupal4marketing2009.eventbrite.com/
A couple of Brightcovers are going over to participate and we thought it would be fun to follow in the footsteps of Manchester City FC and live broadcast part of the event.
You can view it in the player below and the feed should start around 6.30pm GMT - feel free to post it on your Facebook profile by clicking the FB Share link.
We are pleased to announce that Sky Deutschland has rolled out the Brightcove platform across its Sky.de Web properties to support the organization's growing online video initiatives. With Brightcove, Germany's leading pay-tv provider is able to publish and deliver secure, high quality video programming and exclusive content from Germany's top professional sports leagues, including Bundesliga, UEFA Champions league and Formula 1 motorsports.
A little over two years ago, Brightcove opened its European headquarters in London. In that short amount of time, the UK has become an important global center for innovation in the online video industry, often spearheaded by television broadcasters in the market.
We’ve had the honor of working with many of the leading UK broadcasters, including ITV, Channel 4, Five, BSkyB, UKTV and STV. This week, we are very excited to add Virgin Media Television to the list.
Over the past two years, we’ve noticed a number of interesting growth trends in the UK broadcast sector.
We are excited to report that Virgin Media Television’s LIVING brand recently launched Liv, the UK’s first online TV channel delivering free, exclusive, original short-form content each day, using the Brightcove online video platform. I've been reading a great post by fellow Brightcove Blogger Chris Little over at our Ecosystem blogroll about how Brightcove Players have been whitelisted by Facebook.
This essentially means that a user can share a video from your player/site and have it appear in their FB Newsfeed for immediate inline playback.
