Embed video in Facebook with a link

You may have noticed that sharing a Youtube link to your Facebook Wall/Newsfeed results in an embedded version of that video. Did you know you can also do this with Brightcove? All you need to do is add some metadata to your video pages and when links to those pages are shared, you videos will be embedded in Facebook, check it out below:

BEML Search Component Available from Truveo

Truveo has built a search component that you can use in your Brightcove templates. It has the ability to search your entire Truveo channel and will return results that will playback in your Brightcove player when selected. This is done through an integration with the Player API.

New Brightcove Alliance partner, Livestream, today announced the availability of their new API and a Brightcove player plug-in that they developed with it. At its simplest, the new plug-in allows joint Brightcove and Livestream customers to broadcast live web shows within their Brightcove players.

Embed Video in Facebook News Feed

Earlier this week, Fox Entertainment Group’s mobile business launched its first-ever commercial iPhone application for its popular show “Family Guy.” The app was launched in collaboration with Brightcove, Rhythm New Media, a Brightcove Alliance Partner, and Sideshow, an interactive agency.

66X growth for the mobile web in the next 4 years

A recent report by Cisco has mobile web data usage increasing 66x by 2013 (Network World). The majority of this increase is expected to come from growth in mobile video. I can definitely say that the topic of mobile video has become increasingly important to publishers that I have spoken to over the past 3-6 months.

One of the things I find really valuable about online video is the ability to be more interactive with your audience. There are often many competing distractions online that you don't get when you are watching TV, and depending on the type of audience you are trying to engage, providing interactivity with your video experience can definitely keep users around longer.
