Earlier today, we sent an email to end-users who have been using Brightcove.TV to upload and share personal video clips. In the email, we explained that starting Dec. 18th, we will be removing the upload feature from the Brightcove.TV website. The email raised some questions we will try to clarify in this post.
Today we moved our consumer video guide from the Brightcove.com domain to Brightcove.TV.
The growth of the guide in the last 8 months has been great, and it’s helping to bring audience and awareness to Brightcove partners. We made the domain shift so we could separate the consumer video guide from our publishing partner marketing and communication. You also may notice that we updated the information in our corporate site.
We look forward to hearing your feedback on the move.
We're delighted to announce the debut of Brightcove Takeout - making it much easier to subscribe to videos on any subject matter, or from just about any Brightcove partner. Most importantly it's now a snap for anyone to add relevant, contextual video feeds to their own site or blog. This comes on the heels of the customizable YourMinis widgets we showcased last week.
We think video quality and the overall video user experience is pretty important. It's been nice to see people recognize that aspect of our service in the coverage over the past few weeks. But, the big feature we've been lacking for some time has been a big picture. Like other sites we've experimented with full-window expanded video, but haven't been able to do true full-screen.Until now. We're delighted to be first in line to take advantage of the new full-screen capability of Adobe Flash.
