The Great Debate ended in a draw. The very entertaining session between 2 industry heavyweights ended in a bit of a love-in where they ended up educating the crowd more about how the sport will evovle then tearing into each other.
Today from the ring at the IAB UK we're streaming LIVE the Great Debate: Buyer vs Seller. Thanks to Live Talkback you can be part of the action. Answer the questions below retime to help frame the current mindset. Then throughout the debate change your answers and help figure out if you were swayed by the debaters!
So I just had word from our friends at the IAB UK that tomorrow's event is almost sold out! That's a capacity of 90 people coming to get ring side seats for the showdown between the Media Buyer and Media Seller.

It's hard to believe we're only a few weeks away from Adobe's 360|Flex conference, which is set for March 7 - 10 in San Jose. We are happy to be a Bronze sponsor for this year's event, which should prove to be another well-attended and extremely valuable gathering for the Flex community.
Yesterday I was at the really enjoyable Online Video Monetisation Summit hosted by Brightcove UK. I felt the speakers really brought entertaining thought leadership, examples and expertise to the podium. The packed room was thoroughly engaged for the entire event and some really great questions were asked.
The takeaways for me from the event are generally thematic but incredibly insightful:
It's going to be a very exciting year for us at the LBDG as we start a monthly series of events designed for you to get the most of Brightcove and the emerging Online Video industry.
To kick things off, as you probably all know, we're starting with Brightcove for Live Streaming!
We've got an exciting line of presenters for you:
Earlier today, the organizers behind the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference in Austin announced a batch of about 40 sessions for the SXSW 2010 Music Conference, including a panel session on the future of online music videos that will be moderated by our very own Nick Stahl. We are extremely excited to be a part of the SXSW event, as it is one of the top events in the world for uniting the music, film and technology industries.

I'm heading down to give my 15mins of cents to the London Facebook Garage tonight.
For those not able to make it tonight we're going to do what we did with the Drupal for Marketing event and stream this live over the BC3 platform.
We'll also have the same tie into a Facebook Livestream box and you can embed the stream directly into your FB Profile by clicking the button in-player.
You can see more about the event here : http://www.facebookgarage.co.uk/
Enjoy!
Just an FYI - for those in the London area that are keen, there is a Facebook Garage user group tomorrow night (November 11th) which I'll be presenting at.
I'm going to spend my 15 minutes of fame looking at how Facebook and Brightcove can combine to be a powerful tool in both the Push and Pull video syndication models.
I'll post my slides up here after the show but feel free to come on down and learn not about my stuff but other great presentations around developing with Facebook.
The Brightcove UK team is plenty busy over the next few weeks with a series of events and speaking engagements that we encourage our London followers to check out.
This week I have been here in Japan helping with the launch of our new fully localized product. I lived here for four years as a young adult, and it's always fun to come back and reconnect with the culture and brush up on my Japanese.
In the past decade, I think I've done at least seven different product launches in Japan. Our local Brightcove team has delivered more results with with fewer resources than any other Japanese product launch I have seen. It has been incredible to watch.
If you are involved in interactive advertising, it's time to submit your best work to IAB annual MIXX Awards 2009. Details and the submission form can be found here.
Our next Meetup in London will be held on Thursday June 11th from 6 pm at the Pitcher & Piano, Trafalgar Square. Jeremy and Bob (our CTO) will be the special guests so don't miss this opportunity to meet them and ask them your questions on roadmap, etc! RSVP here.
I will be at Streaming Media East in the Brightcove Booth on Tuesday. I look forward to seeing you there, and showing off to you some of our newest customer launches!
Brightcove will be hosting and participating in several webinars over the next few weeks that are certainly worth checking out. Whether you're a B2B marketer interested in learning more about video or you'd just like some perspective on the overall online video market, I recommend tuning in to what should be several great discussions.
Our very own Chris Johnston and Baljeet Singh, Product Manager of Video Monetization at Google will be giving a webinar this Thursday. More information about the event:
We will be holding a meetup for the Brightcove community in London on Thursday March 26th. It will be quite informal and a chance for the broader community to get together. In addition, we'll have some senior Brightcove architects visiting so you developers can pepper them with your burning questions! Details here.
That's a (translated) quote from Jeremy who was interviewed by Marie-Catherine Beuth of Le Figaro during his recent visit to Paris. Enjoy.
I'm very excited to announce the first BC developer meet-up!
A bunch of the Brightcove engineers will be in NYC for a meet-up on March 12th. This is a great opportunity to catch-up, learn from each other and just get to know one another. Details and RSVP can be found here: http://anyvite.com/events/home/4tccdahlxq
Hope to see you there!
