Today, from the Next09 conference in Hamburg, Germany, Brighcove CEO Jeremy Allaire will announce two important new developments for Brightcove in the region. 

Germany's leading sports video portal, SPOX.com, has chosen Brightcove as its online video platform. Beginning later this year, SPOX will use Brightcove to publish and distribute exclusive ad-supported video content from professional sports leagues in Germany and around the world, including the Champions League, DFB Cup, Formula 1, Premier League, PGA and boxing.

Today, Brightcove has announced a wide-ranging partnership with OMS, Germany's online sales and marketing network for regional newspapers, which will enable OMS to use the Brightcove platform to develop an online video network for its member newspapers. The new network will feature premium content licensed and distributed by OMS, as well as local video published by the regional newspapers through Brightcove.
