    Adobe's merger with Macromedia will create a powerful software company focused on converged media - bringing together dominant formats and runtimes, tools and applications for digital media (documents, images, video), and interactive, multimedia applications into a single company. This new Adobe will likely become one of the most important, independent commercial software companies outside of Microsoft.
