Brightcove players offer you a choice of settings that viewers can use to share the video. Two of them are closely related and easy to confuse:

You may have noticed that sharing a Youtube link to your Facebook Wall/Newsfeed results in an embedded version of that video. Did you know you can also do this with Brightcove? All you need to do is add some metadata to your video pages and when links to those pages are shared, you videos will be embedded in Facebook, check it out below:

Mashable has some nice stats today on the popularity of various viral sharing services and email. Here in Professional Services land at Brightcove we've integrated with Clearspring's AddThis widget quite a bit, which is a nice one-click way to post a link to just about every viral/social/bookmarky service out there.
As part of a new series on our design process, I'm going to discuss some of the thoughts and decisions behind the features we released with Brightcove 3. This first installment will cover the new sharing menu in our video players.
Viewers can now use the video player menu to share the video they are watching by sending it via e-mail, copying the direct link, or embedding the video on their Web site or blog. The previous menu had worked very well, providing easy access to share videos, but we felt that we could improve on the experience.
We've published a new sample in the Developer Center. The new sample presents a player that includes a custom Flex component that the viewer can use to share a video with social media sites like Facebook, Digg, or Reddit. If you are looking to integrate a custom Flash or Flex component into one of your Brightcove 3 player templates, this is a good starter example. Check it out!
